A Message from our School Psychologist, Dr. Monika Herrera
Dear Parents
It is very common to feel stressed, anxious or simply overwhelmed with the current situation. It might be particularly hard for people who already manage feelings of anxiety or emotional distress. It might be the hardest for those people who already experienced the loss of a loved one, a serious illness in the family and/or significant financial distress. Recognizing how you are feeling can help you care for yourself, manage stress and cope with difficult situations. Therefore, at PS 250 we decided to create parent emotional support group. During our daily virtual meetings, we will be able to help each other by chatting, relaxing and developing resiliency skills. I strongly believe that together we will overcome the current adverse event, COVID-19, and bounce back to normality. Furthermore, I believe that at the end of the day we will be closer to achieving the most profound personal growth that will have a positive effect on our future lives. If you are interested in joining our emotional support group, please contact PS 250 School Psychologist, Dr. Herrera via the contact section below and specify whether you would prefer to participate Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:15 am to 9 am or Wednesdays and Thursdays 2 -2:45 pm. We really hope that you will allow us to support you during these challenging days. Please know that we are here for you and strongly believe that it will be easier to deal with our feelings and fears together rather than in isolation.
