Great Things Are On Their Way!
State of the Art Communications/Multimedia Studio
Fantastic News!! Our proposal for a $400,000 state of the art Communications/Multimedia Room has passed! This funding, provided by by Councilman Reynoso’s Participatory Budget, has brought us state of the art Promethean Interactive Boards to all of our classrooms. In addition, our existing computer lab will be completely updated with all new student workstations and printers. Thank you, Councilman Reynoso, for helping PS 250 prepare our students for the future!!
Hydroponics Lab
A State of the Art Hydroponics Lab is coming to PS 250!! This lab will teach students how to grow and care for plants, herbs and vegetables all year round. The use of hydroponics has implications reaching from water conservation to space travel! Our students will be able to perform hands-on experiments and will develop critical thinking skills in order to solve complex, real-life problems. They will become aware of where our food comes from, how it grows and the concept of sustainability. Construction for our new hydroponics lab is scheduled to begin this Spring.
Schoolyard Habitat Pollinator Garden
Through a grant from the National Wildlife Federation, PS 250 will be receiving a beautiful outdoor classroom/garden space. A team of 1st and 4th grade students have been integral in designing the space alongside professional architects. This outdoor classroom will open up additional learning opportunities for our students. Our pollinator garden will be among the very few of its kind here in Brooklyn. The idea is to attract species that have been driven away due to many environmental factors. Imagine a Monarch Butterfly landing on your finger as you walk your child to school. With our garden, that dream can become reality!! More details will follow!
